It only takes a minute to ask ChatGPT to write a dating profile, and there are more than a dozen apps that will use AI to alter or even generate entirely new profile photos for you. I’ve tested out the tools and spoken to dozens of online daters who have used them. The result is profiles that might be more slick than you could come up with on your own, but they are generic and aimed at getting any attention they can instead of helping you connect with compatible partners.
AI is programmed to consider success as a quantity game. It will write you a profile designed to make you acceptable to the most people. Unfortunately, that means you will end up with a profile that doesn’t connect personally with anyone and that sounds like everyone else. AI can take in the data you give it and formulate it into something, but it inherently lacks the personal connection to help you shine through as an individual.
